The challenge of this project was to transform an old decoration, belonging to one of the most ancient plates of Ganci Argenteria collection, into a contemporary and refined object.
Metafora 552, here is born. A brass corolla designed as two fretwork half-foils. This is the main decorative component of a lamp that becomes ceiling lamp, flor lamp, abat jour and applique. All in one.
Metafora 552 is entirely hand-made, starting from the rubber mold used to recreate the first sample of a ‘60-style plate. Once melted, each section is carefully refined by precision files and welded together. The welding process is then refined manually by use of a chisel.
